BNOCL was incorporated in 1983. It however commenced operations in 1982 when the Barbados Government acquired the former Mobil Explorations Inc.’s production facilities.
For many years, the company’s primary objective and core business is the economic exploration and production of Barbados’ onshore hydrocarbon potential within a 16,438 acre area.
Its main subsidiary, Barbados National Terminal Co Ltd manages the storage and distribution of fossil fuels, as well as the storage and exportation of crude oil for the group. In recent years, BNOCL has sought to restructure into a fully integrated energy company and is therefore actively involved in implementing a number of domestic and commercial renewable energy projects.
