Alana Malinde S.N. Lancaster

Alana Malinde S.N. Lancaster is a Guyanese-Barbadian lawyer, academic and natural resources specialist. She specialises in international environmental & energy law, the law of the blue economy, and human rights law, and is a Lecturer in Law, and Head of the recently formed Environmental Law, Ocean Governance & Climate Justice Unit of the Faculty of Law at The University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus (The UWI). In this role, she provides technical support to UWI for the drafting and the implementation of the institution’s Climate Action Plan and Climate Justice Strategy. Alana is also a Co-Investigator with the UKRI GCRF-funded One Ocean Hub, and serves as the Regional Deputy Director of the Global Network for Human Rights and the Environment for the Caribbean Region.
