Dr. Antonio Alleyne

Dr. Antonio Alleyne

Lecturer (Economics) & Program Coordinator, The University of the West Indies Cave Hill Campus

Dr. Antonio Alleyne is approaching 12 years of professional experience in analyzing the economics of commerce and trade. Dr. Alleyne has investigated this critical topic from the viewpoint of government (at the Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs), private sector (consultancies), and now academia (at the UWI Cave Hill Campus).  His research falls under the scope of economic integration- i.e., bringing countries closer for commercial advantages. He mainly uses quantitative methods to investigate concerns of, but not limited to, international trade, innovation, competitiveness, and development in the Caribbean, with a particular interest in Asian economies due to experiences gained from his years spent there.  Dr. Alleyne's current focus is on the integration efforts between the Caribbean and the less traditional regions. His interest surrounds the values of close Caribbean relations from environmental, developmental, and commercial perspectives.
