Omar Allahar
Omar holds a bachelors degree in Civil (UWI) and Masters in Structural Engineering in the “Analysis and Design of Structures for Hazards” from City University in London. He is professionally registered in the UK, Barbados and Trinidad & Tobago. He is currently the Regional Chairman of the Caribbean Regional Group of the Institution of Structural Engineers.
In his work as a consulting engineer and with his particular expertise in designing for disaster and climate resilience, Omar has worked throughout the Caribbean and Europe. Omar has travelled to many disaster zones after major hurricane events in the Caribbean, and this fueled his passion to work with Pavana Energy to develop climate-resilient, renewable energy projects and influenced the vision that has been set out for Pavana Energy. These solutions best serve the environments of SIDS like Barbados helping them to be climate resilient as well as freeing them from their dependency on imported carbon emitting fuels.
