Shanna Emmanuel has been involved in Environmental Managment for the last 11 years, working first for the Government of Saint Lucia with the Department of Sustainable Development within the climate change unit supporting reporting to the UNFCCC, as well as mitigation actions. For the last three years she has worked with the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Commission within the environmental sustaibaility division. There is is currently supporting the Climate and Disaster Resilience Unit, which coordinates climate change work  thorughout the member states. She has a passion for using island-solutions to solve island problems, and advocates for Caribbean innovation to be at the forefront of work.
